I&rsquo;ve been in a hibernation of sorts. A very long hibernation indeed, I&rsquo;d put the good old bears to shame! It was a good long break where I was not only trying to figure myself out, but also trying to get settled into a career of cooking, baking, grilling, frying, steaming, catering, creating.While I was gone, I traveled to India, moved into a new place, did a lot of backyard gardening, &ldquo;A LOT&rdquo;&hellip; about which I shall write in another post, [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="paragraph" style="text-align:left;">And&hellip; I&rsquo;m back!! I&rsquo;ve been in a hibernation of sorts. A very long hibernation indeed, I&rsquo;d put the good old bears to shame! It was a good long break where I was not only trying to figure myself out, but also trying to get settled into a career of cooking, baking, grilling, frying, steaming, catering, creating.<br />While I was gone, I traveled to India, moved into a new place, did a lot of backyard gardening, &ldquo;A LOT&rdquo;&hellip; about which I shall write in another post, hosted guests, read about food, successfully experimented with Gastronomy, cooked and cooked and cooked, and of course also landed a cooking job!!<br />So, overall, a very fruitful year of living the dream!! And now I am back trying my hand at keeping up with posting a few blogs whenever I can.<br />This is only my &ldquo;hey, I am back&rdquo; post and I will therefore keep it short, but kindly stay tuned for future posts and please feel free to comment and/or contact me should you have any questions, comments, or just to say hi. Our days are becoming shorter, our air cooler, our nights longer, and our homes and kitchens warmer. "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness"(Keats), is upon us so why fret? For me, fall brings with it smells of warm spice [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="paragraph">Greetings everyone!<br /><span>As the Northern hemisphere slowly moves away from the maturing sun giving a chance to those in the Southern hemisphere to experience the warmth of Spring, our vegetation ripens and bursts into the final fiery shades of yellow, amber, orange, red, and brown. Our days are becoming shorter, our air cooler, our nights longer, and our homes and kitchens warmer. "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness"(Keats), is upon us so why fret? </span><br /><span></span>For me, fall brings with it smells of warm spices and herbs, of cookies, cakes, and soups of all sorts: Things to warm our spirits and to make us happy and healthy to face the cold dreary winter months. Treading into the local farmer's market in Olympia, (http://www.olympiafarmersmarket.com/) last weekend, gave me all kinds of happiness. The endless varieties of apples, pears, plums, grapes, peppers, squashes, mushrooms, and other fruits and vegetables coaxed me to spend a chunk of change which I did not regret at all. After all, all the ingredients I pick aid in newer experiments in my kitchen lab and help me work towards my insatiable hunger for the perfect bite that appeals to all my senses. <br /><span>What I came up with was a <u>Three Course Casual Dinner</u> menu: <br /><span>1. Kale, Apple, and Cranberry Salad <br /><span>2. Fresh, Hearty Vegetables Goat Cheese</span></span> Pizza <br /><span>3. Warm Spiced Ginger </span>Cookies<br /><span>All of the above adhered strictly to my 5enses palette and I thoroughly enjoyed every single morsel. This menu would also work great for game days, since football season is upon us as well. If interested in any of the above recipes, kindly do respond through comments and I will be happy to share. From the very basic, simple, and unadulterated recipes I grew up with, to the crazy explosion of flavors and textures that my adventures around the world presented me with, food has always been my friend. That being said, I love experimenting: creating, melting, molding, constructing, mixing, playing, and building. In all my years of experience with food I can say one thing with confidence: I can seriously cook. Now don&rsquo;t get me wrong here. I technically am not a Chef by profession yet but I can be the Queen of my kitchen or any kitchen I enter. I can own it. Give me any odd ingredient that you fancy or don&rsquo;t fancy at all and I will create something you will not be able to wait to sink your teeth into. This is my honest and confident challenge. <br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>  &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I&rsquo;ve been into many professions and subject areas. My life has never had a dull moment. From fashion to singing to sales to sailing to flying to teaching, I can safely say, I pretty much covered a lot more ground than many others. But food has ALWAYS been a constant. It has ALWAYS been my one true love I held so close to my heart that I barely thought the need to pursue it as a formal education until I did. <br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>  &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Now I am waiting for the next step but I feel the need to share this with all food lovers, food followers, food people, and foodies of all kinds.
